Worcester Furniture School Pulls in the Crowds
We have just got back from Peter Sefton’s open day. In all, we had a fantastic time and connected with many enthusiastic woodworkers. I think all were pleasantly surprised to see in the region of 130 people come and go throughout the day. We where treated to lots of demonstrations from the various exhibitors. Not to mention Peter himself showing some of the techniques he teaches on his furniture making courses. Peter offers a wide array of courses at his workshop in Upton upon Severn in the beautiful Worcester countryside. The workshop is set in a lovely rural location with fields surrounding and the most handsome horses grazing. I couldn’t help thinking what an inspirational place it must be to work and learn.
We spent the day demonstrating the new Festool Surfix wood finish system. It was very well received and seemed to surprise a lot of people how efficient it was. Many of the other Festool power tools where demonstrated, such as the Rotex RO 150 sander and the new Festool Carvex Jigsaw. As our first show with Intelligent Workshop Tools, I think it went very well indeed and it confirmed to us our ethos. We deeply believe in strong customer relations and offering the best advice and service we can.
Peter is keen on doing it again next year and we would be delighted to return. If you are at all interested in taking a long or short course in furniture making then I would highly recommend going to see Peter’s workshop. His facilities are excellent and his students appear to be making some beautiful work.
